Ghost Game

This is a simple twin-stick style horror game I made for Summer N64 Style Graphics Jam #3 with the theme "If you don't see it, it doesn't exist." In this game, you play as a ghost hunter with a camera that can see paranormal entities. Your goal is to get as far as you can in a randomly-generated haunted forest.

TW: Some blood, implied violence, unsettling visuals, spiders.

How To Play

You can talk to your friend at the beginning of the game for advice.

The game was designed with controllers in mind, but mouse + keyboard should also work.

Gamepad controls

• Left stick - Move
• Right stick - Aim
• RT - Hold to record with camera
• LB/RB - Look around
• A - Interact
• B - Cancel

Mouse + keyboard controls

• WASD - Move
• Mouse - Aim (only while camera is active)
• Left click - Hold to record with camera
• Q/E - Look around
• Space - Interact
• Escape - Cancel

There is no menu, press Alt+F4 to close the game.

Developer commentary

This is my first time participating in a game jam. I wanted to capture the feeling of walking alone in the dark and relying on sound cues to understand your surroundings. It is not perfectly N64 but I tried my best to make a fun retro game with what I had. I hope that you like it!

AI usage: I used ChatGPT as a coding assistant, and Photoshop's generative AI to make some textures for the environment and enemies.
